CAMP DETAILS:

The Triathlon Camp will be taking place at Truro school in association with Triathlon Coach Becky Miles.

The camp will be run over 2 days; from Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th August  (Please note both days must be attended).

Age range 8-13 years old.

Please note: This is a training Camp and children must be committed to skill development. The camp is not a holiday club for children not interested in the sport of Biathlon/Triathlon. If you are unsure please contact the Sport centre manager Amy Blackford on 01872 246079.

COST:

The cost of the camp will be £60 for both days.

Bookings for this will go live on the website on Friday 1st July at 1200.

ABOUT BECKY MILES:

Becky is a qualified level 2 running coach and Triathlon Coach. She is a keen triathlete and Ironman. Through her Personal Training business ‘Total Fitness Coaching’ she works with clients to prepare them for events from Running and Triathlon to Ironman.

ABOUT  MATT STONE:

Matthew Stone brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the coaching team. As a seasoned triathlete and 2x Ironman finisher, he knows what it takes to compete and achieve in the endurance sport at a high level. In his 10 years+ of coaching and teaching experience, Matt has trained aspiring triathletes of various ages, from beginners all the way up to national competitors, previously leading the performance age-group swim coaching in New Zealand. Since moving to Cornwall in 2006, he has taken part in open water swims, biathlons, aquathlons, road running, quadrathlons and triathlons. Matt has coached at both Truro and Helston Swim clubs as well as a number of private swim academies across the region. He co-founded Gyllyngvase Surf Life Saving Club in 2008 and has been a competitor and lead coach for its duration. Matt has won a number of awards for coaching and was nominated as ‘Cornwall’s Sports Person of the Year’ for his coaching achievements in 2013. His coaching style is all about having fun and enabling his students to enjoy taking part in the training sessions, as well as helping them to achieve whatever goals they are working towards. He holds a Level 2 coaching award with SLSGB and Swim America and Level 1 with UK Athletics and the ASA.

CHECK IN/OUT INFO

Participants should arrive at the Sir Ben Ainslie Sports Centre for registration between 0830-0845, and collected from the Sir Ben Ainslie Sports centre at 1515-1530.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Clothes for all weathers inc running kit and warm clothes
  • X2 Swimming costumes/trunks
  • Goggles
  • Swim Hat
  • Two towels
  • Swim Training Fins
  • Drinks bottle
  • Trainers plus talc (for transitions)
  • Bike plus helmet
  • Running top for a number to be pinned on
  • Packed lunch and snacks

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

At the parents request we are able to store bikes overnight.

Please inform us in advance if you would like us to store your child’s bike.
