Looking for outdoor adventure camps for children in Truro? Truro School’s Bushcraft Adventure Day Camp offers an exciting day of outdoor learning, survival skills and hands-on exploration for children aged 7–13 years.

Delivered in partnership with Under the Canopy Cornwall, this popular holiday club encourages children to connect with nature, develop confidence and learn practical outdoor skills in a safe and supportive environment. From building shelters and lighting fires to navigation challenges and woodland games, every activity is designed to inspire curiosity, teamwork and adventure.

Perfect for children who love the outdoors, our Bushcraft Adventure Day Camp provides an unforgettable school holiday experience where children can learn new skills, make friends and enjoy a day immersed in nature.

What’s Included?

Children will take part in a variety of bushcraft and outdoor survival activities, including:

  • Shelter and den building
  • Fire lighting and campfire skills
  • Marshmallow roasting
  • Navigation and wayfinding
  • Tool-making activities
  • Team challenges and woodland games
  • Outdoor survival techniques
  • Building confidence and self-reliance in the natural environment

The emphasis throughout the day is on safe, enjoyable learning while encouraging creativity, resilience and a sense of adventure.

Our Bushcraft Adventure Days are delivered by the expert team at Under the Canopy Cornwall. Their experienced outdoor leaders and educators are passionate about exploration, nature and adventure-based learning.

Chosen not only for their technical expertise but also for their ability to engage and inspire young people, the team creates a welcoming and supportive environment where children can thrive. All staff are DBS checked and committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of every child throughout the day.

Lunch and Refreshments

Children should bring:

  • A healthy packed lunch
  • Snacks for the day
  • No Nuts
  • A refillable water bottle

What to Expect

Arrival

Children should arrive at Truro Prep School for registration between 8:30am and 8:45am.

Collection

Children should be collected between 4:45pm and 5:00pm.

If you need to collect your child earlier, please inform a member of staff during registration. A late collection charge of £5 per child will apply after 5:00pm.

What to Wear

As activities take place outdoors in all weather conditions, we recommend children wear:

  • Comfortable outdoor clothing that can get muddy
  • A waterproof jacket
  • Wellington boots or sturdy trainers
  • Clothing suitable for spending time around a campfire

Please note that clothing may become dirty and may smell of wood smoke following campfire activities.
