Discover the exciting world of printmaking in this specialist art workshop for teenagers, led by experienced artist and Truro School Art Teacher, Gizela Daemi-Rashidi.

Perfect for young creatives looking to develop their artistic skills, this hands-on workshop introduces students to a variety of printmaking techniques, including Gelli printing, mono printing and screen printing. Participants will explore colour, pattern, texture and composition while creating their own bold and original artwork.

Students will also have the opportunity to combine traditional printmaking methods with digital art techniques, using technology to develop, refine and enhance their designs. This unique combination of practical and digital creativity encourages experimentation and helps young artists build confidence in their creative abilities.

Suitable for all artistic abilities, this fun and engaging workshop provides a supportive environment where teenagers can explore new materials, learn professional techniques and express their individual creativity.

About Gizela Daemi-Rashidi

Gizela Daemi-Rashidi is an experienced Art and Design Technology teacher with nearly three decades of teaching experience across Devon and Cornwall. She holds a BA (Hons) in Jewellery Design from Middlesex University and began her creative career designing jewellery for major high street retailers in both London and New York.

Alongside her teaching career, Gizela maintains a strong passion for drawing, digital art and printmaking. She enjoys exploring a wide range of creative processes, often combining traditional printmaking techniques with digital tools such as Photoshop to create innovative and contemporary artwork.

Throughout her career, Gizela has held a variety of leadership roles, including Assistant Head of Enrichment and Head of Creative Arts. However, her greatest passion remains working directly with students in the classroom, helping them discover and develop their creative potential.

Gizela particularly enjoys inspiring young artists to experiment, take creative risks and develop confidence in their own ideas. She believes that every student has a unique creative voice and is passionate about nurturing the skills, curiosity and self-belief needed to help that voice flourish.

Having taught at Truro School for the past three years, Gizela brings a wealth of professional experience, artistic knowledge and enthusiasm to every workshop she leads.

What to Expect

Arrival

Registration takes place at the Sir Ben Ainslie Sports Centre at 9:45am. A member of the holiday camp team will be available at the entrance to welcome students and complete registration.

Collection

Students should be collected from the Sir Ben Ainslie Sports Centre between 4:00pm and 4:15pm. A member of staff will be available to sign them out safely.

If you need to collect your child before the end of the day, please let a member of staff know during morning registration.
